too circumscribed for all the necessary buildings, a good and appropriate site for a General Hospital presents itself on the bull (which from the circumstances of its having been occupied by the Commissariat Department in connection with the Camp established here last year may be called Commissariat Hill)
and which lies with a belt of low ground intervening, nearly immediately to the north of the position in question;
on this site, sufficient ground might be obtained for an Hospital, for which, owing to its being well open to the prevailing winds in summer, and from its very cheerful sea aspect, it is regarded, perhaps, as peculiarly adapted. In connection with the portion of the ground above alluded to, it may be a question how far, and to what extent the sea encompassing it may be appropriated to Colonial purposes, to such an extent, the Committee cannot see any objection.
